Content Creation is Overrated, Here’s Why
Being a content creator has been a buzz after the lockdown, there has been many new content creators that have emerged in the industry creating content on a consistent basis.
But I think content writing is overrated, it is over simplified to the modern creators, they are influenced to contribute with whatever knowledge they have to the unending world of social media and just settle to be able to contribute to the superficial over a deeper system of control.
Here’s why content writing is overrated
Content creators or content marketeers?
Are today’s content creators really creating content or they are selling you content and what are they actually selling to you? is it something that you need or something that give birth to your desires?
If you closely observe, most of the content creators follow the similar fashions of taking your time from you to generate income for themselves. They promise you entertainment, they just know your emotions, not your problems.
What this has created is a society of fake heroes, you think that the content creator around knows your problem because of a story that they communicate with you, but that is totally based on emotions. That is based on how you travel around the internet.
A dominant school of thought of the content creators tell you that give your audience what they ‘want’ but is it really what they ‘need’, a question for you to ponder
The Real World
Content creation is definitely better than blindly consuming content, it brings you closer to what the people call the ‘Real World’ but it’s not the real world. You don’t still know how the world works because you contribute to the unending world of social media.
The world of social media can bring you closer to the Real World, but just being entangled to content creation won’t help it, you must interact with the real world and that must be done without the intervention of social media world.
So, just shut off that selfie camera for a minute and experience the world, instead of just blindly creating content.
Limitations on Creativity
Just give it a thought for once, one who could create a massive business and could challenge and compete with the business tycoons is trying to get a podcast with them, sound terrible! right?
Well, this is what is happening in today’s world and this is what has overrated buzz of content creation has done to people, they have taken the first step to live their own life, but they have just stopped there.
Their creativity and perspicacity have been consumed by the social media, but their zeal and consciousness has just made them drive it. They are still in the sea but with a boat.
Is there any solution?
Is there any solution to the overrated world of content creation, the best way is exploration. Instead of just being creating content, think about exploring the content.
